Easy to activate and easy to use


With Kia Digital Key, you can avoid the hassle of carrying around physical keys by unlocking and starting your Kia with only your smartphone or smartwatch. Remotely share your Kia Digital Key with anyone you like for convenience and easy access to your Kia.



Digital Key - Compatibility

The Kia Digital Key is only supported by compatible devices. To activate your Kia Digital Key, you may need to update your mobile device's operating system, your vehicle's infotainment system software, or the Kia Connect App to the latest version.

  • Google: Google Pixel 6 Pro or above

  • Apple: watch series 6, 7, 8, 9, Ultra

  • Activation of the Digital Key via Kia Connect App (recommended)

     

    1. Please make sure you have your two smart keys and your mobile device in the car.

    2. Start the car, put it in park (P) and open the Kia Connect App.

    3. A pop-up window for registering the digital key appears in the Kia Connect App. Tap the "Add" button in the pop-up window (alternatively, you can tap [More] - [Digital vehicle key]). On the next page, tap "Register digital vehicle key."

    4. The activation process will be sent to your Apple Wallet, Samsung Wallet or Google Wallet. Please follow the instructions in your Wallet app.

  • Activation of the Kia Digital Key via URL

     

    1. Please make sure you have your two smart keys and your mobile device in the car.
    2. Start the car and put it in parking position (P).
    3. Click the appropriate link for your mobile device's operating system within the email you received about Digital Key.*
    The activation process will be sent to your Apple Wallet, Samsung Wallet or Google Wallet. 

    4. In the vehicle's infotainment system, select [Setup] -> [Vehicle] -> [Digital Key] -> [Smartphone Key]. Click the "Save" button to pair your Kia Digital Key.


    * The activation link will be sent to you in a separate email.

  • Activation of the Kia Digital Key with Activation Code

     

    1. Please make sure you have your two smart keys and your mobile device in the car.
    2. Start the car and put it in parking position (P).
    3. In the car's infotainment system, select [Setup] -> [Vehicle] -> [Digital Key] -> [Smartphone Key]. Click the "Save" button to pair your Kia Digital Key.
    4. Once the pairing process has started, your mobile device will prompt you to enter the activation code. Please enter the activation code, which you request from within the email you received about Digital Key, on your mobile
    device and repeat steps (3) and (4).

Get the app

  • Sharing the Kia Digital Key

    In addition to your own mobile device, you can share your Kia Digital Key with up to seven other smartphones and one Apple Watch per iOS device (provided the Apple Watch has already been paired with the respective iOS device prior to key sharing).
    You can share your key via the Wallet app (Apple Wallet, Samsung Wallet, and Google Wallet) on your mobile device. Shared keys can only be used on devices that are compatible with Kia Digital Key.
